2026 STARS Fly-in at UChicago

STARS fly-in programs are free opportunities for students to visit a STARS College Network member campus for three days and two nights. During the fly-in program, students will learn more about how to navigate the college application process, experience life on a residential college campus, and meet other talented and passionate students from across rural America. Space is limited and the application process is selective.

The STARS Fly-in at UChicago is open to high school juniors (must be graduating in Spring 2027) and will take place May 3-5, 2026. Students will have the opportunity to learn more about the college application process from admissions and financial aid experts, explore the city of Chicago and life on campus, and meet current UChicago students to learn more about their college experiences.

To be considered, students should complete the STARS Fly-in Application. The application includes one short essay and uploading an official or unofficial transcript. A nomination from an educator is recommended as part of the application process. Applications are due by March 9, 2026 and decisions will be released in late March.

All STARS fly-in programs are free for students, and the programs include funding for travel, transportation to and from the college campus, and all meals and activities during their stay.
