The STARS College Network is a coalition of colleges and universities dedicated to supporting rural and small-town students to and through college. STARS Counselor Tours are selective, fully funded tours designed for secondary school counselors and counselors from community-based organizations from across the country. Counselors can apply to the following tour now: Washington University in St. Louis and Vanderbilt University (March 2-5, 2025). This counselor tour starts in St. Louis, MO at WashU's campus on Sunday, March 2 and concludes in Nashville, TN at Vanderbilt's campus on Wednesday, March 5. During the tour, attendees will participate in campus tours, workshops, panels, and information sessions focused on identifying the distinguishing characteristics of each host institution, as well as broader college counseling skills. Counselors will leave with more information about WashU and Vanderbilt and how they support their rural and small-town students to and through college. As founding members of the STARS College Network, Vanderbilt and WashU are proud to support the work you do every day with small-town and rural students. All costs, including travel to and from the tour, are fully covered. If you are selected to attend the tour, necessary travel arrangements will be made in mid-January. Applications are due no later than Friday, December 13. Final decisions will be sent via email in early January.
